"The Culling" was DC's great attempt at launching the Ravagers, trying to tie "Legion Lost" into the modern DC universe, and showcasing the new 52 version of the "Teen Titans." It simply doesn't work as readers of the eight issue of "Legion Lost" can attest. Scott Lobdell and Tom DeFalco are both fine comics writers but there are too many characters here and, frankly, as a longtime Legion fan, I'm a little bewildered by their attempts at characterization. With intense and often gory actions scenes, there is little time to make readers care about the characters on stage. The newly launched Ravagers do nothing to impress. It's telling that the Ravagers comic was canceled after a year and the Legion Lost comic did not even last a year and a half. This is a jumbled mess of a comic collection that will do nothing to satisfy fans of any of the groups and heroes caught up in this story. The issue does not stand by itself and is part of a larger series requiring looks at "Teen Titans" and the "Ravagers."Product details
